Basic map skills reflection

What I found easy about basic map skills was the continents and ocean because I feel like they are easy to remember and I had already learned them in elementary school.  I struggled most  with coordinates. I found it difficult because I didn’t really understand latitude and longitude so it made it hard to find the location of the coordinates. Something that makes it more difficult is that i keep mixing up latitude and longitude so that makes it hard when trying to find the coordinates that are given to me. Basic map skills are necessary because if you are asked to go somewhere or you are lost and you don’t know where you are you can use your basic map skills to help you find your way to where you need to go. They help you better understand geography because geography is about knowing about and learning about places and you have a hard time learning about them if you don’t know your basic map skills so if you know them you will understand geography better.

    Reece, you did a spectacular job on your writing. Something that caught my eye that I agree with is that I also think that latitude and longitude are both confusing and I mix them up as well. I also agree with you when you say that basic map skills are a very important skill you have. But something that I noticed and also think as well is that things are easy to remember with time and practice like how it s easy for you to remember continents and oceans because you learnt it when you were younger. Overall I think you did a fantastic job.

      Thank you Georgia. I agree that things become easier to do and remember as time comes. I like how you get latitude and longitude confused because it makes me feel like I am not the only person who doesn't know.

    Reece i agree that coordinates are confusing. however i disagree that longitude and latitude is the reason. i find that it is because of the time it takes to find it and then losing track. although i still know what you mean.

Standard of Living Reflection

I think it is important to learn about standard of living because it can and maybe will help you in the future. When you get old enough to move and buy a house, you may need to use standard of living to help you determine where to live. You don’t want to live in a country that has a low GDP per capita because that means the countries wealth is low. You don’t want to live in a country were their life expectancy is 65 years, because that means they have low health. Knowing about standard of living is important to learn about because it helps you better understand information about other places and may help you when you do things later in life.
