I think it is important to learn about standard of living because it can and maybe will help you in the future. When you get old enough to move and buy a house, you may need to use standard of living to help you determine where to live. You don’t want to live in a country that has a low GDP per capita because that means the countries wealth is low. You don’t want to live in a country were their life expectancy is 65 years, because that means they have low health. Knowing about standard of living is important to learn about because it helps you better understand information about other places and may help you when you do things later in life. Ideas about economic and standard of living can be analyzed using the 5 themes of geography because you can compare parts of standard of living like health and education to parts of the 5 themes of geography like location and movement. Analyzing the five themes of geography helps people better understand connections between people and earth because all of the themes of geography are used to help people in their everyday lives. It helps you understand connections between the earth because themes like location, and Humans and the environment and region because with all of these themes it describes things that are on the earth. For location it tell you where you or something else is in the world, so it makes it easier to know where you are going or where you are. Humans and the environment helps because it tells you what things are and if they are man made or not. Region can help because it tells you what an area is like, whether it’s climate or landforms. Basic map skills reflection

What I found easy about basic map skills was the continents and ocean because I feel like they are easy to remember and I had already learned them in elementary school.  I struggled most  with coordinates. I found it difficult because I didn’t really understand latitude and longitude so it made it hard to find the location of the coordinates. Something that makes it more difficult is that i keep mixing up latitude and longitude so that makes it hard when trying to find the coordinates that are given to me. Basic map skills are necessary because if you are asked to go somewhere or you are lost and you don’t know where you are you can use your basic map skills to help you find your way to where you need to go. They help you better understand geography because geography is about knowing about and learning about places and you have a hard time learning about them if you don’t know your basic map skills so if you know them you will understand geography better.
